The engagement program is open to all declared undergraduate Microbiology students. The goal of this program is to engage and integrate undergraduate Microbiology students into the Bacteriology Department through structured, pre-determined activities that you complete outside of the classroom and in research.
Students who participate in this program and complete all program requirements will be recognized in our Hub newsletter, department newsletter, and potentially other avenues at the end of the academic year. This is also a great activity to add to your resume!
The Microbiology Engagement Program encourages, celebrates, and recognizes the importance of students’ involvement within the department. We hope that once you complete this program, you will leave with an increased sense of belonging, increased understanding of research going on in the Department/in the microbial sciences, and increased connections with department faculty and other undergraduates in the Microbiology major.
Program Requirements
Students must complete at least 12 points across multiple sections (including all activities in Section 1) before the end of the academic year to fulfill program requirements. All requirements must be completed within the year you are participating (Fall and Spring semester of an academic year).
